Maruti Swift Dzire is all set to launch its third generation model by May this year. The recent snippets of the New Swift Dzire hints at its early May launch, yet there is no official announcement on the matter from the company. The snap shots also give an insight of the drastically changed cosmetics and mechanisms, with exterior styling modifications inspired from the 3rd generation Swift, marked for launch next year. Majority of the modifications on the New Dzire have been made to it forefront, with ample contribution from the New Swift. Still Maruti managed to add in little trinkets to distinguish it from its parent hatchback.

It features large chrome grille, modeled bumper, fog lamps, novel pulled back projector headlamps with LED DRLs. Talking about the back, everything is new there, from new tail-lamps with LED units and a revised sportier bumper. Another significant change would be in the nameplate, as Maruti would  drop the Suzuki part from its name.

The new improved interior will get design changes and new gadgets including a new touch screen SmartPlay entertainment system etc. Another significant change on the new Dzire will be a new oil burner, developed exclusively by Maruti. The petrol engine will be retained from the current model and there could be an optional AMT or CVT coupled with the traditional five-speed manual transmission.

Launch Date
Maruti will first launch the New Swift Dzire in India in May followed by the Maruti 2017 Swift hatchback launch at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo.

Mileage
The all new Maruti  Dzire is all set to outrun its predecessor in terms of mileage. The two variants- Petrol model is likely to provide mileage of over 20kmpl and the SHVS model up to 30kmpl.

Competitors
In the sub-compact sedan arena, the new Maruti Swift Dzire 2017 will fight straight against the Honda Amaze and newly-launched Tata Tigor. The subcompact sedan will also take on the Ford Aspire, Volkswagen Ameo, Hyundai Xcent and the upcoming Chevrolet Essentia.  (For the highlighted Cars, link them straight to their genuine sites)
